There aren't many things that tie the 1988 and 2008 national championships for Kansas basketball together, but Penny Postoak Ferguson is one of the few.
She was next-door neighbors with former KU star Danny Manning and a KU student when the Jayhawks won in 1988, and two decades later she was working for the city of San Antonio and helped host the Final Four when KU was there to win its last national title.
Postoak Ferguson is doing her part to ensure a third KU title (in another year that ends in eight, no less). She purchased her ticket to the Final Four in a leap of faith in January, then cheered as her alma mater rallied to advance to Saturday's Final Four showdown against Villanova.
