Final Four TV play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz closed Kansas’ 40-minute shootaround with a short 5-minute interview with KU coach Bill Self conducted in front of 15,394 fans Friday afternoon at the Alamodome.
“What do I want to tell ‘em?” Self said, repeating a question from Nantz asking for the coach’s final words for Jayhawks fans heading into Saturday's national semifinal against Villanova. “We want to tell ‘em we love ‘em. We want to tell ‘em we appreciate all the support they’ve given us. And we want to tell ‘em to at least stay sober enough to not fall in the river (on the nearby River Walk).
