The 1996 Big 8 Player of the Year, Vaughn immediately made his mark in Lawrence, winning MVP of the Preseason NIT in his freshman year.
Vaughn scored 1,207 points in his career at Kansas, but is rightfully thought of as a passer first. The record holder for most assists in a McDonald’s All-American game, Vaughn finished his KU career as the school’s all time assists leader. He has been surpassed by Aaron Miles, but is still one of just two players in KU history with 1,000 points and 800 assists in his career. He also has the most assists in Big 8 history.
