KU takes series opener from K-State, 4-1

MANHATTAN — Kansas State scored a run in the bottom of the first inning but wanted, and needed, more.

With one run in on Tyler Moore’s RBI single, the Wildcats had runners at second and third with one out. Quintin Crandall flew out to right field, and Josh Rolette tagged up at third and attempted to score but was thrown out at the plate by KU right fielder Joe Moroney.

That was the only run K-State could manage off KU pitcher Ben Krauth as the Jayhawks took the series opener 4-1 on Friday at Tointon Family Stadium.
