MANHATTAN — The Kansas volleyball team was feeling the heat. Not just from the sweltering conditions in Ahearn Fieldhouse with no air conditioning on a hot Sunday afternoon, but from the Kansas State team and a rowdy crowd of 3,325 in the Sunflower Showdown.
After dropping the first set, K-State got rolling and won two straight sets before No. 12-ranked KU rallied to post a 3-2 victory (25-20, 21-26, 22-25, 25-15, 16-14) in a Big 12 Conference match.
“I think that’s going to be life in the Big 12 this year,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “K-State played hard and Kansas played hard.
