KU notebook: Kansas survives Quickley’s cut; four remain in hunt for acclaimed guard

Kansas recruiting target Immanuel Quickley, a 6-foot-4 senior-to-be from John Carroll High School in Bel Air, Md., who is considered one of the top point guards in the recruiting class of 2018, on Monday cut his list of schools from seven to four via a post on Twitter.

Quickley, who plays on the spring and summer AAU basketball circuit for Baltimore’s Team BBC, has a final four of KU, Kentucky, Maryland and Miami. Rivals.com’s No. 15-ranked player has eliminated Duke, Providence and Virginia.

He scored 29 points and dished out nine assists in Team BBC’s 71-69 victory over Team Loaded of Virginia on Sunday in the finals of a Big Shots AAU tournament in Virginia.
