KU freshmen Carlton Bragg, Lagerald Vick impress in debuts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Carlton Bragg’s first entry into the Kansas stat sheet didn’t come on a long-range jumper or a highlight-reel dunk. It came on a first-quarter steal.

Bragg, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound freshman from Cleveland, made a habit of this on Tuesday at Sprint Center, leading KU with three steals in the team’s 91-83 exhibition victory over Canada.

“You can tell Carlton’s going to be really good, that’s obvious,” said KU coach Bill Self.

Bragg finished with four points and four rebounds and one assist in 13 minutes. That assist came in the first quarter when he led a fast break and dropped a nifty bounce pass to fellow freshman Lagerald Vick who scored on a layup.
