KU football coach David Beaty unfazed by string of assistant departures

David Beaty is not concerned about the recent string of his assistant coaches leaving for other jobs.

In fact, the Kansas football coach takes it as a compliment.

“Listen, here is the way I look at that and always have,” Beaty said before Wednesday’s “Football in February” event at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center. “If nobody is coming after your guys, you don’t have the right guys.”

The Jayhawks lost longtime running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Reggie Mitchell to Arkansas last Friday. Tuesday, wide receivers coach Klint Kubiak left the program to join his father Gary Kubiak’s staff on the Denver Broncos.
