From a Kansas perspective at least, it’s not too early to discuss the upcoming KU-Texas Tech game, set for a 3:15 p.m. tipoff Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
The eighth-ranked Jayhawks (22-6, 11-4), who pounded Oklahoma 104-74 on Monday at Allen Fieldhouse, are idle until the game between the Big 12’s top two teams. The No. 6 Red Raiders (22-5, 10-4), however, must travel to ninth-place Oklahoma State (15-12, 5-9) for a 6 p.m. game Wednesday.
If Tech is able to survive that road contest, the Jayhawks and Red Raiders will be deadlocked entering Saturday’s showdown. If Oklahoma State defeats Tech, KU will hold a one-game lead with three to play in pursuit of a 14th-straight Big 12 regular-season crown.
