KU basketball freshman packing on muscle in hopes of larger role

LAWRENCE — Though Svi Mykhailiuk spent the last month in his hometown of Cherkasy, Ukraine, it wasn’t exactly a summer vacation.

“I was working out a lot,” the Kansas sophomore said Tuesday. “I was trying to prepare for next season. It’s very important for me.”

The 6-foot-8 guard, who mostly went through individual drills at the gym, also found time to work on his game with former teammates.

“I’ve tried to develop everything,” Mykhailiuk said. “I’ve tried to develop my weaknesses, tried to get stronger.”

Mykhailiuk knows next season will be an important one for his development.
