Kevin Haskin: Winless season fails to provide answer regarding Beaty

LAWRENCE – Kansas did at least, trudge along a historic path this season in football.

The Jayhawks went winless for the first time in 61 years and just the second time in history.

The final defeat was, fittingly, against their biggest rival. Kansas State brought in one of its worst teams in years, a squad that still sports a losing record and is scrambling to qualify for a bowl.

Yet the Wildcats scored four first-quarter touchdowns and thumped the Jayhawks 45-14 in Memorial Stadium.

The worst defense (based on average yardage) ever fielded by Bill Snyder at K-State was far better than the worst defense this year in the FBS, fielded by KU.
