Kansas reportedly offered bowl game; however the decision made may be best for the team

Everyone thought that Kansas’ season ended with a 31-21 loss at the hands of the Utah Utes, in what was a heartbreaking fourth quarter that saw Utah topple on 21 points to make it back-to-back 5-7 seasons for Lance Leipold and his Kansas Jayhawks.

However, earlier this evening, a report from recruiting database On3 stated that Kansas was given an option to play a bowl game but declined, a common theme among teams that go 5-7 that has risen over the past couple of seasons.

At least 7 teams that were 5-7 have now declined a bowl bid: Florida State, Auburn, UCF, Baylor, Rutgers, Temple & Kansas, sources told @On3sports.
