You won’t believe it unless you listened or watched the game. The Kansas football team defense played better Saturday. The Jayhawk special teams are primarily responsible for the slow start in the 45-0 setback at Iowa State. The Jayhawk offense didn’t help.
Through the first five games, Joe DeForest, the Jayhawk special teams coach, had the group playing fundamentally sound football. That didn’t happen Saturday. As a matter of fact, the weather is responsible for some of it. On the other hand, the rain fell on both teams.
The game opened with some hope for Jayhawk fans.
