Kansas football fans are not thrilled with the final outcome. On the other hand, David Beaty’s Jayhawks did show signs of progress in Saturday’s conference opener. The 56-34 final score does not indicate how close the Jayhawks played the Mountaineers in the second half. The team didn’t win but showed some fight. As a matter of fact, eliminate a penalty and a turnover and we might see a different outcome.
I knew going in that West Virginia players were fast. On Saturday, Kahlil Herbert played faster and better. It is unfortunate Kansas lost considering his big day.
