The Kansas football team has a clean slate as they open Big 12 Conference play Saturday morning. A week ago, the Jayhawks lost a road game to a Mid-American Conference team on the road. Coach David Beaty’s Jayhawks are pleased to get back to Memorial Stadium. They need to put the disappointing non-conference schedule behind them. Saturday’s opponent will present a new set of challenges.
During Tuesday’s media briefing, Beaty expressed the team’s excitement to open conference play. “It’s high stakes,” he said. “It’s about us, not as much about them. We control us.” A pair of MAC teams scored a lot of points on the Jayhawks the past two week.
