In a game that was much too close for comfort most of the way, Kansas held on against Seton Hall by a 83-79 score to advance to the Sweet 16.
A sloppy game early on, both teams struggled with turnovers and missed shots as KU limped out to a 15-6 lead following a Silvio de Sousa dunk with 11:37 to play in the first half. However, Seton Hall responded with an 18-5 run to take a 24-20 lead with just under five minutes to go. But KU was up to the task, ending the half on an 11-2 run of their own to take a 31-26 lead into the break.
