Anyone who is emotionally tied to a team, like I am to the Kansas Jayhawks, is living a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde existence. There is the measured, coldly logical part of the fan that realizes that one game played by 18-22 year olds should be viewed through the spectrum of a single game in a long season. There is little sensationalism that occurs through this spectrum.
Then there is the other half – the half that shows itself among friends at bars and the volume of the argument often exceeds its merits. This is the fan that takes one game and makes vast, unfair conclusions about a player or a team as it relates to the season as a whole.
