Kansas basketball: Three takeaways from non-conference schedule

The Jayhawks were able to close out the year and decade with a big road win yesterday over Stanford 72-56. It wasn’t the prettiest game, but Kansas basketball was able to rely on its defense until the offense got going.

As a matter of fact, the Jayhawks have been relying on their stellar defense for quite a while now.

When Kansas played Villanova for example, they held the Wildcats to 56 points, the least amount they’ve scored all season. The problem was the Kansas offense was only able to muster 55 of their own points. While fans can be upset, as the Jayhawks certainly had their chances to win the game, but sitting at 10-2 going into conference play isn’t a bad way to be.
