Kansas basketball was knocked out of the top five earlier this month for the first time this season after a home loss to then #4 Baylor. The Jayhawks dropped to #6, but with a pair of road wins against Texas and Oklahoma, Kansas jumped back up to number three in the country.
Here’s this week’s AP Poll top five and the amount of points each team received from voters:
- Baylor 1,591
- Gonzaga 1,588
- Kansas 1,470
- San Diego State 1,422
- Florida State 1,335
While the Jayhawks’ two road wins last week were impressive, Kansas’ rise had more to do with teams losing than anything else.
