Kansas basketball: All-time Bill Self era Jayhawks team

Kansas basketball has had a number of legendary coaches in its storied history. From James Naismith and Phog Allen to Larry Brown and Roy Williams, every coach of the Jayhawks has found success. There’s only one coach with a winning percentage as high as 82 percent though, and that’s Bill Self.

Since coming to Kansas from Illinois in 2003, Bill Self has continued to carry the great tradition of Kansas basketball and elevate it in many ways. Here are a few of his accolades (so far) with the Jayhawks:

  • 500-109 record (as of April 2020)
  • 1 NCAA championship
  • 1-time national runner-up
  • 3 Final Fours
  • 15 Big 12 titles
  • 6-time Big 12 Coach of the Year
  • 2009 AP Coach of the Year
  • 2012 Naismith Coach of the Year
  • 2016 AP Coach of the Year

That’s a pretty impressive resume and you’d be hard-pressed to find a coach that’s been as successful as Self has at Kansas.
