Once again, Kansas jumped out to a big early lead, and once again, it didn't take long to disappear. Much of the first half followed the same script as Saturday's game at Baylor, but Texas proved to be far tougher to put in the rearview mirror after KU jumped out to an 8-0 lead.
Marcus Garrett was the story early on, scoring 13 by the under-12 timeout, which included hitting his first three attempts from outside. By halftime he'd racked up 17 points on 7-7 shooting. Unfortunately, Kansas allowed Texas to grab 37% of their own misses and hit eight threes, while KU went just 2-7 from the charity stripe.
