Jayhawks Maul Mountaineers

After a rough performance for much of Thursday night's win over Texas, the Jayhawks cruised over upstart 10 seed West Virginia Friday to earn a spot in the 2019 Big 12 Championship Game with an 88-74 win that could only be described as either a mauling or dismantling.

Unlike last night's gritty performance, the Kansas defense actually struggled quite a bit early against West Virginia, though part of that was simply the Mountaineers hitting shots. Despite maintaining a turnover advantage, KU found themselves down for much of the first half. Fortunately the Jayhawks closed the half on a 17-4 run, including a Quentin Grimes three with just two seconds remaining, giving them a 48-40 lead.
