In the first of two exhibition games against local D2 schools, Kansas got a big lead early and ran away from Emporia State, 93-55.

Dedric Lawson got the scoring started with two free throws; Lawson would score KU’s first 10 points of the game as KU quickly built a 15-3 lead. Before the first half clock read 10:00, Lawson already had a double-double, and Kansas was well en route to building a 45-22 lead at the break.

The Hornets played Kansas even through the first 15 minutes of the second half, but a late Kansas spurt put the final score well out of hand.
