Kansas' return to Lincoln started well enough. Devonte Graham's shots were falling as he hit three early shots from outside, and it was clear that Nebraska didn't have anyone who could stop Udoka Azubuike. However, KU's lack of defense kept the Huskers in the game, and the Jayhawks took a one possession lead into the locker room.
The second half looked similar to the first, with Azubuike taking over at times, and Nebraska scoring with every bit as much ease as Kansas. KU appeared to be separating at about the five minute mark, but Nebraska closed the gap, and ultimately took a one point lead with about a minute to go.
