Jeff Withey, one of the best big men ever for Kansas basketball is joining a new team. Word broke Friday afternoon on his new two-year deal in Dallas. It is not an impressive agreement, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN. On the other hand, Withey has an opportunity to make the Mavericks roster unless there is more here than Mark Cuban is saying.
Withey is one of my favorite former Jayhawks. Hardcore Kansas basketball fans still remember that late December night in 2008 when news broke Withey left Arizona to join the Jayhawks. A nice holiday gift for Bill Self.
