Injured Montell Cozart remains out of KU football lineup

LAWRENCE – The Kansas football team is set to play another week without former starting quarterback Montell Cozart, who is still recovering from a shoulder sprain suffered on Oct. 3.

Freshman quarterback Ryan Willis will make his fourth straight start Saturday, when the Jayhawks play host to No. 14 Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

“He’s still got quite a bit of discomfort right now,” KU coach David Beaty said of Cozart. “He’s going to have a hard time playing until he can get that discomfort completely out. Right now it’s just not there.”

When Cozart is available to return, it’s still likely that Willis will continue to hold down the starting spot, though Beaty has remained noncommittal on the subject.
