Last season, Kansas football averaged a measly attendance of 19,424 fans per home game per the NCAA. That number has to go up if Jayhawks fans want to see their football team improve. Even just five years ago, Kansas was putting over 34,000 people in the stands. So what changed? Every Kansas football fan and most general college football fans know the answer: losing.
It’s hard to attract fans when the program is on the toilet. From 2014-2018, Kansas has won a grand total of nine games, had a winless season, and went through Weiss and Beaty as head coaches.
