LOUISILLE, Ky. — The defensive lapse haunted Frank Mason for days, maybe weeks. Freshmen are like that. At least they should be.
As fate would have it on Saturday, the Kansas guard will see the same shooter, Ryan Arcidiacono, playing for the same team, Villanova, but for much bigger stakes in the South Regional final of the NCAA Tournament.
Not that Mason is still pained by the semifinal loss the Jayhawks suffered against the Wildcats at the Paradise Island Tournament in the Bahamas near the beginning of the 2013-14 season.
He made a point to learn, however, from the final sequence of that defeat.
