Former K-State AD Max Urick elected to hall of fame

Max Urick, director of athletics at Kansas State for 13 years, was selected to the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) hall of fame.

Urick, K-State’s AD from 1993-2001, was involved in the development of the Big 12 Conference and oversaw a growth period in the Wildcat athletics department. Gender equity was one of his priorities, enhancing athletic opportunities for women at K-State.

During his tenure the budget doubled, stabilizing the financial health of the department.

“I am grateful and very humbled by this recognition, especially because it is from my peers and colleagues dedicated to intercollegiate athletics,” Urick said.
