LAWRENCE — David Beaty likely won’t be satisfied by the attendance at Kansas football’s Fan Appreciation Day practice Saturday.
Then again, the KU coach seems OK with that right now.
“We need to give them a reason,” Beaty said, “why they need to skip a pottery class on Saturday and get to the stadium.”
The second-year coach has often said one of his biggest priorities is winning back the trust of the KU fan base and, in the process, filling Memorial Stadium. The 10 a.m. Saturday open practice will be another public step toward trying to exercise the bad mojo of several years of futility and, most recently, a winless campaign last year.
