SAN DIEGO — Brannen Greene knew this was the final chance to add to his shooting line.
With 4:31 left in Tuesday's game and Kansas comfortably ahead, the junior put up a contested 3 than bounced off the rim. A few minutes later, KU coach Bill Self found the guard when he came to the sideline.
"He shot that last ball because he knew he was coming out,” Self said with a smile. "I told him, ‘I know you well enough to know that’s exactly why you shot the last ball.’”
Greene didn’t deny his coach’s claim.
