Five-star guard Bryce Thompson committed to Kansas and Bill Self on Tuesday morning. Thompson, ranked #19 overall in the 2020 class by 247Sports as well as Rivals, gives Self his first five-star recruit since the 2018 class. More notably, it gives Kansas its first five-star recruit since the Adidas “college basketball scandal” broke.
Thompson, out of Tulsa, OK, chose Kansas over a final four that included North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. At 6’5”, 175 lbs, Thompson has typically been projected as a 2-guard, but he is reportedly one of the more versatile guards in the class and run the point as well.
