Charlie Weis is the new head coach of Kansas football

Reports coming out of the Kansas Athletic Dept and also from ESPN's Joe Schad are that Kansas football, fresh off of firing Turner Gill after 2 seasons at the helm, have hired Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis.

Weis spent one year in Kansas City as offensive coordinator prior to heading to Gainsville to join Will Muschamp's staff at Florida.

For the sake of Jayhawks fans, we hope he has more success with his decided schematic advantage will work better in Lawrence than they did in South Bend and Gainsville.

Weis' combined record in college at Notre Dame and Florida is 41-33. His last regular season winning record was in 2006.

With this addition, Kansas has set a new NCAA record for the largest 2 head coaches ever to coach at the same school, along with Mark Mangino.
