The Royals have had their share of inspirational stories over the years. There was Jim Eisenreich’s conquering of Tourette’s Syndrome, several guys overcoming drug and alcohol addiction, and even the SungWoo story. But one of my favorites is the comeback of Dennis Leonard. It’s a story that many younger Royals fans might not know about, but it’s a great one.
Dennis Patrick Leonard was born on May 8, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Oceanside High School on Long Island, then continued his baseball career at Iona College.
