I admit it. I thought it was over. I was thinking about where Alex Gordon might sign. I was thinking about where Ben Zobrist might sign. I was thinking about where this Royals team’s legacy would fall in franchise lore. I was cursing the Astros for being the better team, and I was tweeting about how awful being a fan can be because you care so much, but you literally can’t do anything about it. I was writing an article that was supposed to appear where this one is now talking about the end of the Royals season because writing is my therapy, and I needed a lot of therapy.
