The New York Philharmonic pays up on its World Series bet with the Kansas City Symphony

A bet is a bet.

The Kansas City Symphony this week released a video of performers thanking the New York Philharmonic for paying up on its World Series bets.

The orchestra sent our symphony bagels and lox from New York as payment on the wager that the Royals would win the World Series.

If KC had lost, the Kansas City Symphony would have owed the New York Philharmonic Kansas City barbecue.

George Brett even stopped by to help the KC Symphony celebrate the victory.

Still to be honored: a special Kansas City-themed performance by the Philharmonic, which music director Alan Gilbert said earlier this month is in the works.
