Terrance Gore’s speed gave the Royals their victory on Sunday.
After a two-out Royals rally sent the game to the 10th inning, Gore went from first to third on an errant pickoff attempt, then came home on a wild pitch that bounced away from catcher John Ryan Murphy.
The Royals won in walk-off fashion 4-3.
Lorenzo Cain and Eric Hosmer waited until the ninth inning to collect their first hits of the game, and they made them count.
Cain’s single and Hosmer’s triple produced one run and Kendrys Morales’ sacrifice fly to deep right field tied the game and sent it into extra innings.
