Stat of the Day: Home Run Heroes

The Royals hit 22 home runs on their just-completed 10-game road trip to Minnesota, Boston and Detroit, setting a new franchise record for home runs on a single road trip of any length, according to Elias.

The 22 home runs are tied for fourth most in the Majors during the month of August through games played on Sunday, trailing only the Yankees (30), Blue Jays (25) and Mets (23). The Royals’ 22 homers in 10 games this month are already more than the 19 homers they hit in 26 games last month.

Seven of the Royals’ 22 homers on the last trip came off the bat of Jorge Soler, matching Mike Sweeney for the club record on a single road trip.
