In less than 24 hours, Royals catcher Salvador Perez was involved in a fender-bender, blasted a two-run homer, took a 92 mph fastball in the ribs and passed a pair of concussion tests.
All in a day’s work for Perez, who got the Royals started on their 9-6 victory over the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the American League Division Series with the home run.
The previous night, Perez and his agent were riding in an Uber heading toward a food truck when the car was involved in a collision.
“We just got out and took another Uber,” Perez said.
