The Royals announced they have signed 45-year-old left-handed pitcher Rich Hill to a minor league deal. He will head to Arizona before being assigned to Triple-A Omaha.
Hill is a 20-year veteran with the Cubs, Orioles, Indians, Angels, Yankees, A’s, Dodgers, Twins, Rays, Mets, Pirates, Padres, and four separate stints with the Red Sox. He has 97 career wins and a 4.01 ERA. He made four relief appearances with Boston last year, giving up just one hit and two runs in 3 2⁄3 innings. He also pitched for Team USA in the Premier12 Tournament last fall.
