“It’s terrible to think about, but I don’t remember the last time that we kind of won at home,” Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. said. “And so it’s one of those things where we’ve gotta get our stuff right and get our stuff together and be ready to play tomorrow.”
The Royals remain open-minded on how they will approach this summer’s trade deadline:
“If we’re within striking distance – and I don’t know what that record would be because .500 seems to be a playoff record right now – I don’t think we should panic and say the season is over,” Picollo said.
