Royals owner David Glass in talks to sell the club to Indians vice-chairman John Sherman

On Tuesday afternoon, Ken Rosenthal at The Athletic broke the news that longtime Kansas City Royals owner, David Glass, is in talks to sell the club to John Sherman, vice-chairman of the Cleveland Indians.

Rosenthal reports that, while it is unknown if the two sides are close to a deal, discussions have occurred between the Glass family and a group headed by Sherman.

Sherman is a Kansas City native with a long history of philanthropy and entrepreneurship in the city. The 2009 UMKC Bloch School of Business Entrepreneur of the Year serves on the board of directors for multiple organizations, including The Truman Presidential Library Institute.
