Royals’ offensive woes continue in 4-2 loss to Rangers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The drought continued for the Royals lineup Saturday, and Yordano Ventura lasted only three innings in a 4-2 loss to the Rangers. Kansas City has now dropped nine of the last 11 games, mostly because of a nonexistent offense.

Facing fading southpaw Wandy Rodriguez, the Royals managed only one run in Rodriguez’s seven frames. Salvador Perez’s solo shot in the ninth merely made the final score closer. The Royals received an abbreviated, ineffective outing from Ventura. Texas collected four runs off him before his premature exit.

Ventura alternates between brilliant and bumbling. He gave up five runs on 10 hits to these Rangers on May 13.
