The Royals will hold a moment of silence before Game 5 of their American League Division Series against the Astros on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Members of the Kansas City Fire Department will be on the field for the ceremony, which will honor Larry J. Leggio and John V. Mesh, the firefighters who were killed Monday when a wall collapsed as they battled an inferno in the 2600 block of Independence Avenue.
Royals Charities will donate net proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle during Wednesday’s game to the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE), administered by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, as well as IAFF Local 42.
