Royals’ Don Wakamatsu reportedly is a managerial candidate in Colorado and Arizona

Royals bench Don Wakamatsu could be in line to land his second managerial job.

Wakamatsu has emerged as a candidate for vacancies in Colorado and Arizona, according to Jon Heyman from Today’s Knuckleball, and Wakamatsu is expected to interview with both organizations.

Wakamatsu, 53, previously served as the manager of the Seattle Mariners for the 2009 season before being fired on Aug. 9, 2010, after a 42-70 start. He has served as Ned Yost’s bench coach since 2014, offering another veteran voice during games and helping the Royals to consecutive American League pennants and a World Series championship in 2014 and 2015.
