Exatly two weeks ago, the Kansas City Royals entered the eighth inning in game four of the ALDS against the Houston Astros trailing 6-2. The season was over. Only the most optimistic (and maybe a bit off) fans thought the season was going to continue beyond that game. As the Astros tacked on runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, I began to write an article that I titled, “RIP 2015 Royals.” That article never saw the light of day, and now never will. You know what happened next. The Royals scored five runs in that inning and tacked on two more in the ninth before securing a relatively easy victory in game five to move on to the ALCS.
