I’ll admit it. I didn’t think the Twins could be as good as they were last year. Sure they added Josh Donaldson to a ridiculous offense, but I thought they just wouldn’t have enough pitching even with the additions of Kenta Maeda, Rich Hill and Homer Bailey. They’ve done an incredible job in stranding runners, which isn’t likely to keep up at their current pace, but the pitching staff is definitely good enough to win in the regular season. And while they’ve taken advantage of the Pirates the way they absolutely should, they were also 7-2 against the White Sox, Cardinals and Indians before playing them, so this isn’t a fluke start to their season.
