Dubbed the fifth starter in the rotation, it’s been an up and down year for Michael Lorenzen. On Sunday however, Lorenzen delivered in a rubber match against the Diamondbacks.
The powerful right-hander went 7 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits, walking one and striking out 7 Diamondbacks. It only took him 82 pitches as well.
As for the offense, outside of Salvy getting hit by a pitch in the second inning, they went down easy in the first 3 1⁄3 innings of the game. And then Bobby Witt Jr., now a 2-time All-Star selection, blasted a hanging cutter way into the seats in left center field.
