The Royals have their work cut out for them tonight as they attempt to win their first series in April. Homer Bailey will be pitching for the good guys. He has a 9.00 ERA and has only been able to pitch five innings in each of his starts so far. But there’s good news in there, too. He’s striking out a ridiculous, for a starting pitcher, 13.5 batters per 9 innings. His walks aren’t unreasonable. And there’s reason to hope he might turn into a serviceable starter, yet. In that scenario the Royals could easily flip him at the deadline for a pretty good haul considering how much they’re paying him and how much even average starting pitchers can be worth.
