Duffy receives injection for shoulder stiffness

KANSAS CITY -- Royals left-hander Danny Duffy received an anti-inflammatory injection after Saturday night's start against the Cardinals to relieve shoulder stiffness, but it's unclear what effect that will have on his next start.

Manager Ned Yost said Duffy has been dealing with stiffness in his past four starts, in which he allowed 19 runs in 22 2/3 innings.

"Been battling through it," Yost said. "We'll see how he feels. I'm gonna wait and make my decision probably Tuesday. See what's best for him, if he needs to bump one start or not.
